People, Purpose & Passion: Together Towards Tomorrow
Virtual Event
Wednesday, July 21, 2021
Conference Agenda:
8:30 - 9:00 AM | Check-in & Welcome
Get reacquainted with our colleagues as we prepare for the 2021-2022 school/recruitment year!
9:00 – 9:50 AM | Best Practices: Get Hired in 2021
The COVID-19 pandemic changed the way our students look for opportunities, but also how employers look for talent. In this session, we will hear from industry leaders - Katie Huelskamp, Talent Solutions Early Career Recruiter from Koch and Ellen Bonzo, Recruiter, Talent Acquisition from Textron Aviation - to learn how their hiring practices have changed since the pandemic started!
10:00-10:50 AM | Virtual Engagement: The Do’s and Don’ts!
We all had to become marketing pros in our own right during the COVID-19 pandemic. We had to convey new processes and systems to an already “tech-ed” out population; all while meeting the content needs of our students! We are thrilled to have Whitney Prescott, Associate Director of External Engagement and Communications (University of Georgia Career Center) and Audrey Fenske, Program Assistant (Duke University Career Center) to have a conversation with us regarding their own virtual engagement strategies! Check out their respective Instagram accounts: @ugacareercenter @dukecareers
11:00 AM- 12:00 PM | Plan X…Finding Opportunities to Get Experience!
Over the past year, students have looked to different means of finding employment and veered off the path of the “traditional” job search. They have explored Plan A, B, and C….all the way to Plan X! We’ll be hearing from Diana Ramirez, owner of Express Employment Professionals, to understand how her company has been helping both students and employers make connections! Dr. Tim Peterson, KBOR, will also join us to provide updates on the new Kansas Micro-Internships Program and how we can all support this new initiative!
12:00 PM - 12:30 PM | Announcements and Key Take-Away
Registration is free for members and $25 for non-members.
RSVP required. Zoom link will be emailed out on July 19th
