Employer Spotlights

I mainly serve as a member of KACE for an obvious reason, to be able to network with colleges as well as with other employers. It is a great opportunity to knowledge share with each other. To share our “best practices” as well as learn what trends are happening on campuses and within industry. Being a member of KACE has given me an opportunity to expand my contact list. I look forward to the continued growth of KACE and building more relationships!

My KACE membership has provided me with great networking opportunities with employers and educational institutions. The KACE listserv allows me to share vital business information with the organization’s membership, which is a very important part of my position with the KS Department of Commerce – KANSASWORKS.

Training opportunities – I’ve received information and resources at the summer workshops and the annual conferences that have made a positive and lasting impact in our internship program, our AmeriCorps project and corporate engagement in our mission. And I’ve learned so much about new technology trends, communication tools, and media applications – areas that I was definitely not familiar or comfortable with! Cross-sector professional development – KACE is one of the very few associations which cuts across education, government, business, and non-profit lines. For a non-profit like Harvesters, it’s essential to be engaged with other organizations that share some of our key qualities like being mission driven, focusing on continuous improvement, and measuring performance. For me personally, I really appreciate the opportunity to learn from, and share with, such a diverse group of members. People are open to new ideas and experiences but are equally generous with their own best practices, networking contacts, etc.
